Annual Meeting, Concurrent Roundtables and Reception Marriott’s Hunt Valley
Inn Members and guests at the annual meeting of the Hunt Valley Business Forum on February 11, 2004 at Marriott’s Hunt Valley Inn were treated to a preview of the emerging Hunt Valley Town Center. Chairman Rick Webb introduced Brian Gibbons, President of Erwin L. Greenberg Commercial who presented a visual concept of the Towne Center and an update on construction progress. Kim Potember, Vice President and Project Developer assisted Brian in the presentation that included a model of the project. Brian then introduced Laura Civiletti, Project Manager; Mark Ferrera, Senior Vice President and Dave DeLaus, District Manager representing Wegmans Food Markets Inc. Wegmans is a sixty-five store mega grocer who will become a key anchor at the new Towne Center. Laura guided us through a presentation outlining the commitment Wegmans has for the shopper through the excellence of their trained work force. Mark and Dave then answered the many questions from the more than one hundred corporate representatives gathered for the occasion. Wegmans will have a powerful draw to the Hunt Valley Towne Center that will have a powerful draw to Baltimore County. A brief business meeting where Chairman Webb described the mission of the Forum and invited businesses to join us preceded the featured presentation. Treasurer Charles Feihe gave a financial report. Immediately preceding the business meeting, the three roundtables of the Forum met concurrently. The Human Resources Roundtable discussion was led by Dan Corbett of WageWorks who outlined pre-tax commuter plans under IRC Section 132(f) that provide money saving employer/employee benefits. John Johnson of Verizon led the Information Systems Roundtable discussion. We talked about the latest technology in wireless communications and looked at some of the cutting edge tools. At the Facilities Security Transportation Roundtable, Capt. Mark Warren delivered the current crime report and answered questions about security measures in Precinct 7. Carol Snair and Argie Vassilaros of the U.S Postal Service led the discussion on mailroom security and presented a video. |
