HVBF Monthly Meeting - Facilities,
Security, Transportation Roundtable Host: Loyola College in Maryland Attending: Rob Bavar, Bavar Properties Clare Berrang welcomed Chris Smith of TriAlliance. Chris reported on development at The Highlands in Sparks. Current activity in the Sparks area is at Sparks Corporate Center, Loveton and The Highlands. The Highlands covers 174 acres of mixed zoning of which IHS owns 61 acres and is the only developed parcel. The IHS buildings are for sale at this time. Briarwood will probably buy IHS but not the property. An architectural review committee controls the appearance of all buildings constructed at The Highlands. Development of The Highlands will put the York Road car count at 22,000 per day. There are no plans to build an access to I-83 at the site per Bob Steffey of SHA. The PowerPoint presentation by Chris described the area to be developed and the sites contained. Cignal Corporation Development contains 24+ acres and envisions two buildings to be built to occupants’ specifications. PHH Arval will relocate their headquarters to The Highlands from Hunt Valley. Ground has been broken for their building. 221,000 square feet will accommodate 1,200 employees. James F. Knott Development will build 212,000 square feet in a proposed five story building on 21+ acres. Partners Management Development holds 20 acres and will build to suite. In total there are 860,000 square feet proposed with parking for 5,000 vehicles and employing 10,000. Chris Smith can be reached at csmith@trialliance.com. I am sure that our program next month will be a good follow up to Chris’s report. Reports from Precinct 7: Capt Ron Schwartz says that laptops are still the object of choice for thieves in the Hunt Valley Area. Keeping buildings locked is the deterrent. Lt. Marty Lurz reported that your attention to security and monitoring those who visit your offices is equally important. Bob Steffey reported from SHA that work continues on the Timonium Rd/I-83 overpass but should be completed before the Maryland State Fair. A lane is being added to I-83 northbound from I-695 to Timonium Rd to reduce congestion at that point. |
