Security, Transportation Roundtable Host: The Graduate Center at Loyola College Attending: Regina Aris, Baltimore Metropolitan Council, Delegate J. B. Jennings, Delegate from the 7th District to the Maryland General Assembly led a discussion on the recently finished session in Annapolis. J. B. covered some of the most important bills. J. B. is also a small businessman as the owner of Maryland Feed, a farm supply store in Hereford, Maryland. Medical malpractice was incomplete and will return for later resolution. A budget was adopted with no cut in property tax. The minimum wage bill was passed but has yet to survive a veto by the Governor along with several other business related bills. Delegate John Trueschler of the 42nd District joined in the discussion on the topic of embryonic stem cell research. This is a much debated bi-partisan issue. Both Delegates commenter on the hotly contested slots issue which is also sure to return. J.B. walked us through the www.mlis.state.md.us to show us how to locate bills and information on them. Marty announced that there will be a Domestic Violence Overview conducted by Officer Debbie Sabotka on May 25 at 9:00 AM at MBNA, 11340 McCormick Road.
