Capt. Marty Lurz was unable to attend but sent this
public safety report for Precinct 7:
-
The "cat burglary" trend I spoke of has been put
down with the arrests of four suspects.
-
Residential "open garage door walk-in" burglaries in
which the thieves are stealing golf clubs are on the increase.
However, we have identified two suspects for several of these crimes
county-wide (not just confined to Precinct 7) and are actively
trying to locate them. We are looking for a 1993 "Grayish-Greenish"
Volvo 4-door with Maryland Tag 2 B M G 6 3. If anyone sees that car,
please call 911.
-
Since school has ended for the summer, the
Lutherville and Timonium areas have been plagued by acts of
spray-painting and graffiti vandalism. We made an arrest early
Monday morning at Ridgley Plaza Shopping Center of an active "tagger"
(spray-painter) and feel that we have made some substantial progress
in putting this issue down...BUT...we are still working on other
incidents in the area.
-
Light Rail Issues - Honestly, the biggest problem
with the Light Rail recently has been the gates getting stuck in the
down position when trains aren't coming! MTA is aware and is working
on it.
Mark Demski gave the report from the County Department
of Homeland Security and
Emergency Management. This was followed by State Highway Administration
report
from Kelly Kosino.
Bill Hughey, County Office of Planning, led our
discussion on residential development planned for the defined Hunt
Valley area from Seminary Avenue to Hereford along the York Road/I-83
corridor. With PowerPoint and hand out, Bill located each area for which
plans have been submitted with the stage of development to date. A total
of 962 dwelling units are included out of which 304 have been developed.
The units range from single family to multi family.
Paul Obrecht followed with the unveiling of a
residential development in the planning stages within the Sparks
Corporate Center, a commercial development. For additional information
