Susan Fine opened the Roundtable by welcoming those attending and especially new members and guests. Each attending introduced themselves and told us a little about their companies.
Daryl Sirota, Enterprise Consulting Engineer with System Source, took some of the mystery out of the everyday encounters faced by human resource professionals when dealing with information technology. It’s not such a scary thing after all. Daryl described himself as a computer geek but his presentation made us all feel more comfortable in dealing with hardware and software issues to get our jobs done. Daryl addressed HR and automation, familiar terms, computer jargon, acronyms and more. His presentation was distributed as a hand out and is available to those who did not attend.
The online tech encyclopedia website that Daryl Sirota mentioned, is
where one can look up definitions of technical terms . Just click on:

Daryl also recommended SANS Institute website for publications and
information on developing security guidelines and policies on how
company's employees are to use their network and corporate data.
