HVBF Monthly Meeting - Human Resources Roundtable Host: Systems Alliance Attending: Brandie Bittle, Eastern Savings Bank Chairperson Shirley Tyler opened the Roundtable with introductions of each person attending and a description of their companies. Shirley turned the leadership of the discussion over to Ginny Smith, Executive Director of Child Care Links and Debora Lakein, Assisant Director of Family and Children’s Services at Abilities Network. These two companies have formed a collaborative project to address the issues of effective childcare. Responsible childcare continues to be a growing concern of the business community. Some companies have effectively met this challenge but many more are seeking help in providing solutions to this issue. The goal of the project is to improve the quality, availability and affordability of childcare. The presentation covered information on the need, the costs, the goals and employer concerns. These two agencies offer assistance to companies on assessment of needs, training and locating the means to address the pertinent issues. The presentation is available from the presenters.
