Chairwoman Christine Eichler opened the Roundtable.

Christine thanked Nina Paules of ABN Leadership Group for providing complimentary breakfast. If your company would like to participate in exchange for recognition and distribution of your company information, please advise. The cost is just $100.

Christine introduced Bert Randall of member Franklin & Prokopik who led our labor law update.

Bert began the discussion with the latest changes in FLMA. Of particular interest was the advising an employee on remaining leave available prior to termination. Bert advised that new fact sheets are available from ADA at www.eeoc.gov. FLSA White Collar Overtime Exemptions were discussed. In Maryland the regs are not like the federal. You must comply with both sets of regulations. COBRA changes were discussed. USERRA amended veterans benefits were also outlined.

Bert presented some recent cases and rulings for discussion followed by pending Maryland legislation.
