Chairwoman Christine Eichler welcomed the Roundtable and thanked All-Pro Placement Service for the complimentary breakfast.

Christine Walters, FiveL Company, announced several HR open positions.

Christine Eichler introduced our discussion leader, Mike Powichroski of member Right Management Consultants.

The thrust of our discussion was on moving human resources departments to a strategic partner level and moving the human resources manager up to the same corporate level as a business unit manager. Mike asked each to respond to the question “Does your HR department function as a strategic partner?” Human Resources are as responsible to the bottom line as any other department. This should be recognized by HR professionals as well as senior management. Human Resources Managers and Business Unit Managers share accountability for business results and managing people.

We divided into four groups to discuss obstacles and competencies and then reassembled to
discuss our findings.
