Our executive director elect, Mary Ellen Morrison, was introduced. Mary Ellen will begin effective November 1 as John Beever steps aside after more than six and one-half years.

Those attending for the first time were introduced.

John Beever announced that the brochure “Explore Baltimore County” was available on the registration table. This is a roadmap from “where we are to where we are going” provided by the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development.

Chairwoman Christine Eichler requested that those wishing to make a roundtable presentation contact her for the 2008 calendar year. Christine reminded us of the coming Race for the Cure and the need for volunteers. Contact Christine or Rick Webb.

Christine introduced Donna Clare and Dr. Paul Livell of Sheppard Pratt Health System to tell us about their soon to open facility on Pepper Road.

Maury Weinstein of System Source was introduced by Christine to lead us in a discussion about Culture and Fun at Work. Maury has created a positive environment at System Source that has led to customer satisfaction and employee involvement driven by focus on the individual. Maury led us from customer influence on culture by considering the source and creating healthy relationships through motivation and fixing cultures that have become unhealthy. Fun at Work is the result of creative activities that involve the whole employee by focusing on workplace bonds and pride. Fun committees arrange events that emphasize team based activities and family involvement. Events are large and small scale requiring different levels of preparation.
