St. James Academy of Monkton will host author
Michael O'Brien and civil rights activist
Joan Trumpauer Mulholland on Thursday, October 16,
at 7:00 PM in the Susan Tucker Moore Theatre.
In remembrance of the anniversary of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964, Michael O'Brien will discuss
his book "We Shall Not Be Moved: The Jackson
Woolworth's Sit-in and the Movement It Inspired."
As a young southern female in the civil rights
struggle, special guest Joan Trumpauer Mulholland
will speak to the audience about her experience
with the sit-in of 1963.

The event is open to the public and admission
