Every inch. Every foot. Every mile. Every step is a chance to end breast cancer. #OneStepCloser is the call to action for the Komen Maryland Race for the Cure in Hunt Valley on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Executive Plaza at the corner of Shawn and McCormick Roads. The race route spans more than three miles through the heart of the Hunt Valley business district.
The Hunt Valley Business Forum has started a group for the race, and invites members to start teams under this group. Register at www.komenmd.org/2015
Race teams are a great employee morale- booster and incorporate fun and friendly competition into the workplace while giving back to the community. Race teams are also a way to add low-to-no cost philanthropy to your company. Employees can pay for their own race registration fees, or Komen Maryland can set up a “company pay” arrangement where an employer covers the fee.
The Race festival village opens at 7 am, (but get there early for best parking), and the Race kicks off at 8 am. The event also includes music, food trucks, a survivor parade, kids’ activities, and more.
If you need assistance with setting up your team, please call the Komen Maryland office at 410-938-8990 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Susan G. Komen is the largest non-profit organization in the world dedicated to fighting breast cancer. Since 1982, every major advance in breast cancer research has been touched by Komen funds.
Through events like the Race for the Cure, Komen Maryland has funded more than $37 million in the last 22 years for local breast health programs, education, and transformative national research. 75% of net donations stay in Maryland, while 25% funds national research.
