Point Breeze Credit Union Names Tonia Niedzialkowski President

Point Breeze Credit Union Names Tonia Niedzialkowski President

Hunt Valley, MD (2/2/2021) — Point Breeze Credit Union today announced that Tonia Niedzialkowski has been promoted to President of the organization.

In her new role, Niedzialkowski will continue to oversee all aspects of operations within Point Breeze Credit Union, including Member Services, Human Resources, Lending, Compliance, Information Technology and Marketing. She will also manage the Point Breeze senior leadership team and explore future expansion opportunities for the credit union.

Bernie McLaughlin, who previously served as President and CEO of Point Breeze Credit Union, will remain in his position as CEO.

Niedzialkowski has served in various roles at Point Breeze since joining the team in 1994, having most recently served as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. She has also worked in roles including Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer and Chief of Information Technology. Additionally, Niedzialkowski recently guided and oversaw Point Breeze’s expansion into two new markets with the construction of new offices in Westminster and Owings Mills, as well as an extensive expansion and renovation of the credit union’s Hunt Valley headquarters, which doubled the size of its current facility at 11104 McCormick Road. That project is nearing completion and was spurred by the record growth Point Breeze currently is experiencing, both in terms of new members and its consumer and business loan activity.

“I am very pleased that Tonia was elevated to the role of President of Point Breeze Credit Union after a unanimous vote by our Board of Directors,” said Bernie McLaughlin, CEO of Point Breeze Credit Union. “Tonia’s long-standing track record of success, her strong leadership skills and her unwavering commitment and dedication to our company have been instrumental to our record growth over the past two decades. And she always puts our members first. We look forward to Tonia’s continued, outstanding contributions in her new role as President.”
In addition to her leadership at Point Breeze, Niedzialkowski is also active in various business and trade organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hunt Valley Business Forum and the Advocacy Committee for the MD|DC Credit Union Association, where she relentlessly advocates for credit unions and their more than two million members in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Her volunteer work with the MD|DC Credit Union Association includes meeting regularly with legislators and key agencies to ensure the credit union perspective is part of the discussion when legislation is being considered, lobbying to protect the tax-exempt status for credit unions nationwide so they can continue passing those savings on to their members, and fighting for a number of consumer data protection initiatives.

Niedzialkowski earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Towson University. She and her family reside in Bel Air, Maryland.

Message from the Executive Director: January 2021

Message from the Executive Director: January 2021

It’s a new year (thank goodness!) Let’s welcome and be grateful for the new year 2021.

I would like to wish all members a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, and to thank you for your continued support and over the past 12 months. The past twelve months have been especially difficult and challenging for our members, communing and families. Now, the vaccinations are arriving, giving us hope that we may soon transition back to our normal way of life. We are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

A New Year always brings with it some new changes. The Hunt Valley Business Forum has launched a new website. We hope you find this website more informative and easier to navigate. You will also notice some changes to the newsletter in the next few months. We will be featuring some new content to help members get to know some of the people and businesses that help make the HVBF the organization that it is.

While we wish we were at a place to resume in-person events, all networking events will continue to be held virtually. We are hoping that in the spring as the weather gets warmer, we will be able to start adding in some outdoor, socially distanced events. I for one know I am ready to start seeing everyone in person! Make sure to keep an eye on our event calendar for all these events and registration information.

Thank you again for your support during these difficult times. Looking forward to an exciting 2021.

Thank you,

Karen Cook
